For the last two months I have not been able to sleep in my bed due to my pain levels being so high. I was sleeping in my armchair. I couldn't get to sleep, would wake up early and would wake during the night.
Never have I ever been given pain relief until now. My RD gave me Tramadol yesterday and in a couple of weeks I am going onto MS Contin.
I love Tramadol...four blissful hours sleep I had in my bed. Ahhhh!!! It was so lovely.
But here is the kicker that makes me laugh...I only had four hours because I was woken up with period pain
yay for tramadol, booo for period pain....... ugh! hope you feel better.

I'm so glad that you had some hours of restful sleep. Damn that period pain! As if us women don't have enough to deal with. Just those four hours of sleep were bliss...I was so happy I could even handle the period pain and kinda saw the funny side of it. I got up to heat a wheat bag and my girl woke up and started chatting. Once she starts there is no stopping,

I tried it and the first night I slept like a baby, the second morning however I woke up with an allergic reaction to it. I'm now on Darvocet.
hi cordelia, i am glad you are getting relief from tramadol. i was taking 10 or more panadol a day and my doc never mentioned tramadol. it was a friend i know who has ddd that suggested it . it has been my lifesaver.I love tramadol - it's not as effective for me as Vicodin, but then again I don't get all goofy when I use tramadol. There have been a couple of occasions when I've had to pop a Vicodin at work... my co-workers instantly knew something was up, because I wasn't near as uptight about missed deadlines and missing source code!!!I am so glad you are getting some relief. Not to mention some real sleep.
