Humira Pen question | Arthritis Information

Can someone please give me an answer to this problem.......I accidentally left my Humira pen out of the refrigerator for 10 hours. It was not in sunlight. My house temperature was about 72 degrees. Can I still use the pen? Please e-mail me at tcsnlv@yahoo.com. Thanks! It's probably best to consult with your doctor. I try to think about Humira like it's milk. If I left my milk out for 10 hours, I think I would probably not drink it. I don't think the Humira will hurt you if you use it, it just won't be effective because it has "spoiled" so-to-speak.

Be careful with it. If it is cloudy, NEVER use. Call doctor's office.. Don't take a chance. I keep a thermometer in with my humira in the fridge and treat it like the gold that it is, since it is so terribly expensive.

I agree. im glad that my insurance pays most of the cost (my pay is for a 6 pack), but I still dont mess around with it. Im too afraid my insurer will act up if I have to refill early because I messed one up. But I know if its cloudy its not to be used, not sure why, but id call a doc to be sure.if this ever comes up for anyone call the Humira help line- they are very good! What is the number for the Humira help line? I live about an hours drive from my pharmacy and my doctor didn't tell me it need to be refrigerated the first time I picked it up! I ran right to the corner store and got some ice for the drive home trying to keep it cool, but not frozen
