Alright. I'm sick of this crap. The panhandle of FL keeps winning this "hottest spot in the nation" garbage, and I'm tired of it.
Please tell me someone else is having it as bad as we are?
Our temps have been between 99 - 103, and the heat index has been anywhere from 110-114.

Oh, have I ever mentioned that my drive to work is a 45 min one, and I have no A/C in my car? Yeah, think about that one.
I'm gonna go sweat my way to work now......
It's not mjuch better here in DC. I almost died mowing the lawn 2 days ago. It's hot as hell.
I am right there with ya, Katie! We are having temps between 97-99 and heat index of 104-108.
As of 1:00pm CT 99 and feels like 105.
Yeah, I got smart today I would die without air conditioning!!! I actually go out and start my car 10 miutes before I have to leave work. Our parking lot is blacktop and my car is dark and its gotta get to 200 degrees in there!!!! It been in the high 90s here with high humidity as well. I would rather have the cold weather but I hate it when all the leaves are off the trees and there are no flowers! Michele, I feel the same! 67 and sunny with no humidity for me too!Feelin your pain! 101 right now in Alabama! humidity so high you can't breath! oh but we are suppose to cool off by 5 degrees next week, now that should help!
I might hurt somebody if I see that number....
Why don't all of you come to MI in say, February? See how much you hate the heat then. Except for Michele, cuz you're already here, and Chris, cuz you're in DC so you know.Great Just GREAT!

Sunny skies. Record high temperatures expected. High around 100F. Winds NNE at 5 to 10 mph. Yeah, and looks like the humidity has rose, now my hands are starting to swell and get puffy again, and they were starting to look almost normal size and was able to make a fist to punch hubby with.
I think I might go find me a nice cool building like wal-mart or pizza hut or even Micky D's and sit there until they close or make me leave. It is the humidity that kills ya in Alabama! The air is sooo thick you could probably cut it with a knife and see where you cut it! Then it is all hot and sticky... just makes you feel like taking an ice bath! WE are having a heat wave a tropical heat wave. |
I lived in central Florida for 4 years and the last car we had before we moved had no AC. I drove to St Pete everyday(about an 1 1/2 drive) and it was brutal. I feel so bad for you. I remember dying in the car from the heat.
104 degrees in the SHADE on my porch and rising. Who knows what it is in the sun. When I opened the kitchen door to the patio this morning at 4:30 a.m. it felt like a hot furnace door had opened. Two air conditioners going 24 hours, you don't want to know what last month's electric bill looked like.
Katie, no air in the car must be a killer. I hope that you're not in stop and go traffic. I'd have a little cooler of ice and water sitting beside me in the other seat.
I usually have a frozen water bottle with me, and I wear my work out clothes for the drive. All the windows go down, my hair goes up, and no, I only stop at a few stop lights.
Whew.
Oh, we "won" again with the heat index thingy. Panhandle had the highest today - 111. I haven't been keeping track of the other days this week, because it makes me sick. LOL But today too many people were asking me, so I had to.
So this is the 3rd time in a week and a half that I've checked the heat index, and the panhandle has had the highest ALL THRRE TIMES.

Ahhhhh- It's 85 and perfect here in DC today. Thats the thing here. I just have to endure 1.5 months of tropical heat and umidity then DC is comparitive paradise the rest of the year. I can't wait until end of september!!!!! RA gets much better.Katie...I wanna win!

Yes, I have a pool. I got in it the other night after I got tired of taking cold showers. And I hurt when I got out. Hubby had to help me outta the pool again
