HI guys, I am back today as I am worried about my friends on here if you are taking Prexige, I take 200mg per day and there is a recall in Australia because 2 people died from it and 6 people have had to have kidney transplants, please check with your DRs what to do.  Their advice is to stop the drug and contact your Drs for a kidney function test and further advice on what to do next.

I have to say I have really missed my friends on this board and everyones great advice and after further thought about the ROXY issue, I am going to come back, I think everyone who cares about Roxy probably felt the same as me, but I need you guys to help me at times and I hope it is ok with you all that I come back.  I was very disappointed that anyone could get treated the way Roxy was and hope that it will never happen again.

Kind regards and hope you are all doing ok, Janie. Don't know you but hello anyway and thanks for the heads up.

Hi Jane,

I'm a newbie here and not familiar with the Roxy issue, but I know you will be welcomed back with open arms...as you already know, that's the kind of good people who "live" here overall.

It was so good of you to sound the warning about the drug recall.  You may have saved some lives out there.

I remember your name, but I was just new here when you left.  But glad to have you back.

Have you been on the drug with which there is a problem. I hope not. If you have, are you okay?

We have a lot of very nice new folks with us and I'm sure you will both benefit from each other's experience.

There is a very upbeat attitude with the boards these days, lots of help and information, but lots of laughs, too. I'm enjoying it so much more now, as there is a wonderful feel of family and comfort, that had been missing for a while.

We don't hear from Deanna very often and I think about her often. She pops in from time to time, but it has been a while, now. I hope she is okay.

Welcome back, Sweetie.

Hugs,

Nini

Hi Janie and welcome back to the forum.  The forum spirit is more positive now.  Do like a lot of us do, just ignore all the BS. I post when I have something to add about a chronic illness or to welcome.  Usually try and stay away from the political and personal issues.  Glad you're back and keep posting.  Lindy

Welcome back.

Pretty new myself but find a lot of good people and information. As others have said there is some BS but I expect to find that anywere. All in All I enjoy it here.

Welcome back Janie.

Hi Janie, I'm mona, nice to meet ya. Everyone sure seems to have missed youYou sound like you have been going through a lot, it never rains with RA, it pours Hi Cordelia, small world isn't it?  Who is your rheumy, mine is Dr Herd, he is lovely.  When are you starting your new drug?  Love Janie. Hi Janie,

My rheumy is Dr Dave Nicholls at Mooloolah Waters. I live at a place called Conondale, west of Maleny. My rheumy is about forty minutes away from where I live. Quite a drive.

I am starting the new drug as soon as they can possibly arrange it. I have just 'failed' Humira,

Hi Janie, I am glad you are back!  I am so sorry and I hope you have relief soon.  50 mg of Pred.  Are you weaning off slowly or are you stuck there.  Gosh that seems so hard on you body.  Let us know how we can help and support you.

I am new and do not know about the Roxy situation, and it tears me a part that there would be an issue.  I have met and gotten to know some very wonderful people here, people I would call my friends.

Take care!

I'm sorry you are having a bad time of it and meds scares on top of it all. Hope things work out ok.

I thought you might be going to Nambour too as it is the closest oncology ward to you too. Hi Janie by glcoma do you mean the eye disease.you're welcomeYes, glaucoma is another thing I have from steroids, I have had laser therapy as my pressure readings in my eyes were up to low 40's, should be approx 16....  ok for now thank God.  Cheers Janie.

Janie, I have only been on Steriod once for a month and still have a pre-glacoma case.  My pressure readings are good, but there is a hollowing of the optic nerve that we are following.  I also have begun to have cateracts.

I am so sorry about your eyes!! I know that is one thing that scares me to death.

Lots of love!

Welcome back Jane,

I was on this forum for a while several years ago, but never really had time to spend.  I work full time and have teen girls.  They are on vacation with her dad and friends now, so I have some time.  I am still on NSAIDS and have changed a lot of things about my life so I can handle physical and emotional issues regarding PA and RLS and now a denernative disc in my lower back.  I worry more now about taking anything other than the NSAIDS because my mom has osteoporosis and in the last 3 mos has suffered many fractures throughout her back.  I heard that there were several drugs that caused bone loss.  I know that if my PA moves form moderate to severe, I won't have choices, just need the meds to work, any meds.  That scares me, but today I am grateful for the time I have on the NSAD, Diflunisal and Requip.  Thanks for sharing from your heart...
