don’t usually vent, but.......... | Arthritis Information

I just have to, today.  Was supposed to go for Remicade yesterday, and after 17 tries, they couldn't get the IV started.  At that time it was decided I am getting a port or picc line on Monday.  Well, in the mean time, I am in agony!!!!!!  So stiff that I needed help with my ostomy bag this AM and how embarrassing is that?  Asked doc what to do, and she says well I don't want you to take steroids because they have a tendency to make me dizzy and faint.  I had some here at home and took them anyway(shame on me).  My body feels like it's on fire, and my usual positive attitude seems to be on leave.    I have to admit, it's one of those days when I just want to say

Anyway, thanks for listening to my rave,  just had to get it out of my system!!!

Have a great day, everyone!

Love, Cheryl

AHHHH Cheryl,

It really was a very bad day for you.  Don't apologize for venting.  You earned the right to do so....

Does it always take them a lot of tries before they can get into the vein?  Having a pic line or med port put in is a big decision to make. But if they are always having a hard time getting the infusion line in properly, then rather than having to go through the pain and stress of that, having a pic line or med port might be the better option for you. I had a med port put in for when I had to have chemo.  It was the best decision I ever made.  They did everything from the port and I never had to go through the discomfort of them finding a vein to use.  I went and had it flushed every month or two and had no problems with it.
Why is your body feeling like it is on fire?  Is it because of the missed Remicade treatment?  If you are not by yourself and the prednisone helps you to put out the fire and ease off the pain and stiffness, I think I would be popping them myself...

Hang in there Cheryl and keep faith that things will improve.

BIG Hugs for YOU....

Toni.....you are very articulate and it couldn't have been said any better!

Cheryl...thank GOD we have computers so you CAN vent....I will always listen

I hope the day gets better for you...Lulu

Cheryl,  What a day!!!!  You have SUCH GOOD REASON TO VENT !!!!!!  That sounds so horrible.  The

I am sorry the meds are not working as fast as most of us want them to. It just takes time. Hey wait that was hypocritical....lol. But the truth most of the times.

Well, hope you get to feeling better soon.

Just think no more IV! I might like that idea...

Thanks, you guys, I feel a bit better already.  I guess having a pic will make future treatment better as I am always an impossible stick.  Hubby's home with me today, so he's making sure I don't faint or fall. The on fire feeling is a pretty typical way my pain feels when all my affected joints are hurting. That's feet/ankles, knees, hips, shoulders, elbows and hands.  Plus I have a really low pain threshold.

Thanks again, so nice to have someplace where people really understand!!!

Cheryl
