Mobility scooter | Arthritis Information

Hi guys, just wondered how many of you use disability aids.

I have the trifecta, cane, roller-walker and mobility scooter, have a brand new lease on life, now I go riding with my 10y.o and 6y.o sons and we have a ball.  Not to mention the independence of getting to and from Drs, shops etc etc to give hubby a break from taking me!!!  I also pop around to Mcdonalds to meet friends for coffee and am planning to go to 8am mass now that the mornings have warmed up.  Feeling happy, Janie.

Ohhh....I want a scooter.  I checked into it awhile back but with my insurance I had to pay a 0 deductible that I don't have.  I do have a cane and a walker but a scooter would be so helpful these days with my knees in the shape they're in.

Congrats on getting out and about!

Peace & Love...Neasy

None for me. I am scarred to death about that possability one day though . I am very mobile generally, running around and up/down stairs all day at work, but I can't stand or walk for more than a few minutes at a time, which was eliminating most shopping trips and outings.  So about 6 months ago, I purchased a lightly used scooter off Ebay that fits in my trunk and my hubby can lift out and put together.  So far I only really used it once, for a lovely daytrip to Longwood Gardens, but it was so wonderful!  I couldn't even consider a trip like that without the scooter.  I've also been using the available scooters at Home Depot and Lowes lately and it's been a huge help.Glad to hear you are feeling happy!  It is important that we do not isolate ourselves and if that means using a scooter, go for it!!!!  Did you paint racing stripes on it?? Hi Janie, I've only used a scooter in the big stores and only when I'm at my worst.  I guess I've used them 4 or 5 times.  I try and force myself to walk - I take a pain pill and go.  I need the exercise for one thing and I have a history of pulmonary embolism so I make sure that I get up and walk several times a day.  The day may come that I need to use the scooter and when it does I'll gladly use it. I don't want to isolate myself.  I want a purple one. I found it was really easy and fun to scoot around the stores.  Lindy LinB39307.3876041667
