Muscle and Joint Pain Question | Arthritis Information

For those that know my symptoms and have listened to me whine, you know that my legs, feet, hiney and back have been giving me a fit for about the past year. The reason for my RA test and finding this board. Also have family history of RA and Osteo in several close relatives. Looking into genitics too.

Anyways (impossible for me to make a long story short) I have been on Crestor for about 1.5 yrs for high cholestrol and though I knew it could cause muscle pain and damage I never associated it with my growing, worse, symptoms. Fibro has the same symptoms, so I went off the Crestor about 3 weeks ago just to see, and I believe that could have been my problems in my lower body. I don't hurt there anymore and I'm not near as sore, just my usual soreness from fibro in my back, neck, and shoulders.

Anybody else had to deal with this? How in the world do you tell the difference in cholestrol meds or fibro pain? I'm stumped.

My husband was on Crestor several years ago and developed leg and back pain.  The doctor told him to discontinue and the pain disappeared and has never returned.  You can't really tell the difference just be aware that Crestor and other drugs can cause muscle pain. If it worsens once you start the meds then it's probably the meds worsening the pain.  It's just a merry go round of drugs and complications.  Lindyi was on crestor for 1 week during that time i was in so much muscle pain that i could hardly move. i stopped taking and went on lipitor instead . i wouldnt reccommend crestor to anyone , it was awful.

EEKKS! Thanks ladies, I hope my Dr will change it, I'm pretty sure he will have to if I refuse it
