Checking in..... | Arthritis Information

Hi, I wanted to check in with my friends here on the board! I hope you are all doing well. I've missed reading updates on here and seeing how everyone is doing. I have been having a hard time healthwise and ended up in the hospital for 4 days. I am doing better and glad to be out. I am going to the Mayo Clinic next month and looking forward to having a few new sets of eyes look into my medical issues. I'm battling depression right now and am dealing with a lot of stress due to financial issues. Someone on here posted about an online organization called "Modest Needs" a few weeks ago and, whoever it was, THANK YOU! I never thought that I would be in the position to have to ask for help, but I am. Due to declining health and my recent hospitalization, I haven't been able to work in awhile. I contacted Modest Needs and sent in all the documentation they needed to verify our need and, by the grace of God, was accepted. I think what happens now is that people vote on the applications, and the ones with the highest numbers receive assistance. If you are all inclined to take a look, the website is modestneeds.org. My application is titled "mortgage assistance due to health", and my application is number 63778. I really wanted to be forthcoming in asking for help and realize that with the information I posted and my city, anyone who knows me that reads the application will certainly recognize me. It's very humbling and difficult to ask for help. If you are inclined to visit modest needs, it would be a great help! I am turning this over to God and praying we whatever is meant to be will happen. My husband just went back to work on Monday and I truly hope to be able to go back to work soon. I don't want to be ready to apply for social security disability, and think I'll know when the time has come. I wish you all the best. Love, Juliah

Oh, I am so glad to hear from you!  We've all been wondering how you are!

Thank you for telling your story about modestneeds.com.  Any one of us on here may end up needing a little help some day.  And I'm so glad you are receiving it.

You said you are doing better - is that for real or just what you said?  How are you really?

Good to hear from you, Juliah! I am happy you are a little better. I hope the Mayo Clinic can help you get straightened out.

Much Hugs

I'll look it up for you.

Hugs,

Pip

dear juliah. I'm so proud to know you. Wow, we do have some brave people on this board. You are such a valuable person to 'get rid' of the baggage of asking for help, we all have it. and you just went for it!! Congratulations. Being in the hospital, even tho they do a good job, is tough. I was in and out almost 20 days , not all at the same time, this year.  Depression is common when we are overwhelmed even without this dang disease, so I can appreciate your stress. I'm so happy for your husband going to work monday, I'll bee cheering for you all! Good to hear from you, Lynda (was Hurts on this board, but it got changed)

Hi Juliah! I'm so glad you're back...we were all so worried about you! It sounds like you're on the right track with the Mayo Clinic. Please let us know what you find out. And I will definitely take a look at the website you mentioned.

Take care, and I hope your health continues to improve!

I checked out Modest Needs, what a cool place.  I hope you are on the mend now and things will start looking up.  So sorry you had such a bad reaction the the MTX.  Hopefully you will soon get on to something that works.

I'm so sorry you are having a hard time right now. Does you doctor know that you are suffering from depression? If not, please call and let them know, so they can Rx something for you, or do whatever is needed.

Try not to worry, Sweetie. (easy for me to say). I'm so glad you were told about Modest Needs. I am going to sign on tomorrow and see what it's all about. As was mentioned earlier, any one of us could be in the same position, and please know that our prayers are with you.

Just try to concentrate on getting to feeling better! We have all missed you!

Gentle hugs and Blessings,

Nini

New sets of eyes can often be refreshing. Best of luck to you at Mayo. :)

Hi Juliah, am so happy to hear from you.  You have a gem of a husband, he was so concerned about you.

Hopefully, Mayo will get you on the right road.  I'm really curious, did you have a reaction to MXT?  I know you got ill after taking your dose.  I ask only because many of us are taking MXT.

You're a very brave lady and thank you for posting about your situation and ModestNeeds.  None of us know when we might need assistance.  I'm going to the site tomorrow and take a look.  Take care and keep us posted on your progress.  Lindy

Juliah,

Glad to hear you are a little better. I wish you all the luck at the Mayo. I will check out the site.

hI jULIAH, CONGRATULATIONS ON BEING SO BRAVE, KEEP PRAYING AND i WILL SAY A PRAYER FOR YOU, ONCE YOU ASK FOR HELP, PEOPLE ARE USUALLY ONLY TOO WILLING TO GIVE IT as it takes a lot to ask.  Well done and best of luck, Janie.  PS. Sorry about the capitals.

I am so glad your back and feeling better.  Sorry that you ended up in the hospital but sometimes thats what it takes to get us back up to par.  I hope the Mayo Clinic can do something for you and can get you on the right meds so you dont end up back in the hospital.  Also, thank your husband for comming in and letting us know how you were.   I hope that everything works out with the needs that you need financially.  We are going through the same thing and things do get better just remember that.  My mom always said that sometimes things have to hit rock bottom before they can start getting better. I know thats not very positive but its the truth.  Keep your chin up and know that we are here for you.
